The Process

Objectives

The goals and objectives for the Passion for Potential program are

• To identify elementary and secondary education teachers who are seeking a higher level of personal fulfillment and commitment to helping their students reach their greatest potential.

• To award experiential education scholarships to those identified teachers, which will allow them to explore and unleash their self-actualized potential.

• To create opportunities for teachers to make a positive, lasting impact on the education, aspirations, and goals of today’s young people.

• To have a measurable impact on institutional education.

• To support the advancement of this model as a means of producing desirable results in both the school and extended community.

• To support educators in their quest for achieving personal growth through experiential education.

Methods

Teacher participants are identified through a rigorous application and interview process, including recommendations by peers, school administration, and personal references (see Candidate Profile/Application page).

Participants selected to receive a Passion for Potential Scholarship follow the process outlined below.

Coach’s Workshop
Participants attend this series of classes led by experienced instructors who are skilled in the art of encouraging students by validating and working with their natural strengths and creating a positive, safe learning environment.

This allows students to feel comfortable enough to be honestly challenged. Currently, workshops are offered with content focused on skill and knowledge in To Shin Do, a potential-based martial art.

Personal Aim Workshop
This workshop is lead by Stephen K. Hayes, an experienced author and
inspiring teacher. In this class, participants identify the real dream and
develop an action plan to make achieving that dream a reality.

Personalized Budget
Participants and Passion for Potential develop a personalized budget for the identified experiential education program.

Live the Dream
Participants “live out” their experiential education program.

The Inspiration Plan
Following the experience, graduating participants work closely with
Passion for Potential to skillfully weave what they have learned into the
classroom curriculum.

Your Continuity Role
Graduating participants play a pivotal role in selecting potential
scholarship candidates as well as continuing the process to measure the success and the real-world applications of the program in the lives of their students.
